Ruby's Hair Salon Reviews

During my last hair appointment, Jadyn Jedege used unauthorized product(s) that resulted in damage to my natural hair. During my 2nd to last appointment at Ruby's, I witnessed her carelessness by 1) almost applying heat to my hair without applying any heat protection (I caught her and had to remind her to apply the protection) and 2) she had bleaching product smeared on her clothes and on the same counter where she rested the tools that she was using on my hair,. Idk if it the damage caused to my hair during my last appointment is due to carelessness or intentional actions because my usually generous tips were negatively impacted by her unprofessionalism during my 2nd to last visit. While she's a newly licensed hair stylist, it is expected that she'd know to clear the area of any products used on a prior client before starting work on the next. And, I'd expect a level of care and respect when working on clients' hair. I've updated my initial review to accurately reflect the service rendered and warn others. So, you've been warned!

Leah is very talented at her craft! I come up from CT just to see her! She has a great eye for colors and undertones and goes as far as to think about how your dyed hair will blend with your natural color as your hair grows out.

I am very fussy about my hair style because I don't have the time, or the talent, to play with it daily, and have not found a stylist that could do it right, after my old salon closed due to covid. I would bring in pictures and read how "easy" the classic cut is to do, a layered pixie, but each time other stylists would look puzzled, then confer with their supervisors and cut it wrong. Melissa took one look at the pictures, asked a couple of procedural questions and went right to work. It looks great and feels even better! After a few years now of letting bad cuts grow out, I've found a new stylist at last, and she isn't far from my home either! Prices are fair, especially considering how talented she is. Makes me think about having other things done in the future again like I used to do. Knowing how good it looks helps me face the world each day with a whole new attitude. Leah is amazing! So talented. Before finding her I was driving back to Long Island every month getting my hair done. Highly recommend! Edit: while Leah was out on maternity I saw Jenny and Melissa. Both great too!

I live in Boston but travel to see Leah Howie to do my hair. She’s hands down the best hair stylist around. Also If you’re looking for a hair stylist for your wedding, she’s your girl. You won’t be disappointed and she’s also the best person as well. Can’t say enough good things about this salon and Leah. Highly suggest!!
